Local rocker Renita up for Josie Music Award

After a lifetime of devotion to her craft, Lethbridge hard rocker Renita Zintel and her band, RENZITA, have been nominated for “Group of the Year – Hard Rock /Metal” in the 11th Josie Music Awards (JMAs), which will take place in November at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

Despite the category name, however, Zintel says RENZITA has a distinct style that separates them from other bands.

“RENZITA takes you on a roller coaster of sound…we smash the genres,” she says. “A RENZITA song may start classical and go into hard rock then metal then jazz and back to metal, we are full of surprises!”

Ranz and Renita started their collaboration in February 2023, and it quickly turned into a realization that they had to write an album together! The first album, "My Sick Addiction," was released on March 1st, 2024. They have completed their second album, A first single from their 2nd album " Dimensional Destiny," will be released in 2025.

Randy ~Ranz~ Lodder
Through the years….Ranz worked his way through many bands and genres of music as a lead guitarist. He created and played in original Seattle Hard Rock bands: Dagger, Project Gunhead, Distant Thunder, and Balance.
Ranz was one of the primary songwriters. He was one of the first ones in the Seattle music scene to use 7 string guitars. After moving to El Paso, TX he teamed up with an Austin TX country music veteran George Ransom, and formed the Hard Rock/Country original band Ransom. Their first demo sparked major label interest. From there….over the years, he has written and recorded multi-genre original songs and instrumentals, enough to produce a couple of albums.
Ranz recently found a new passion in audio production, mixing, and mastering. Ranz is working tirelessly to bring his combined new passions, Renzita, and production, to fruition.

Renita Zintel ~
Renita has a diverse background in music, writing and singing both original and cover tunes in bands of many genres,. Her background includes singing the grit of blues and rock. , folk, and pop, this led to her unique take on the creation of the RENZITA sound, She has released several solo albums in the blues and rock genre and a EP and Album with the hard rock band Fate Will Come, She is the primary lyricist and vocalist for RENZITA.
